Floral (In)Fusion Loose-leaf Tea

$24.00Price

A blend of flower buds, blossoms, and stems. Fruity and light notes that support grounding and calming energy. This loose-leaf tea has been created by MoonBabyMedicine in collaboration with Spring Up as part of the Spring/Summer '23 market capsule collection.

Loose-leaf tea is a powerful form of medicine that nudges the spirit and eases the body through shifting seasons. Regular ingestion of plant medicine can strengthen emotional regulation, encourage stillness, and support prolonged healing. All of the plants in this blend were either home-grown or hand-tended and harvested by Mai. These are Native plant medicines that have been critical to the environment and culture of broadly coastal communities throughout Southern California. Many of the effects and benefits that they have on our bodies mimic their respective plants’ defense mechanisms and adaptations to the environment around them. Consuming plant medicine in this way is rooted in traditional healing, sustainable harvest, and bioinfused.

Most store-bought tea bags contain microplastics that dissolve when mixed with hot water, and industrial drying processes drain nutrients and medicinal properties from herbs.

Ingredients:

  • Butterfly Pea Flower: Rich in antioxidants, a strong aid to skin and hair. Produces a deep blue hue that turns purple when mixed with lemon juice or other acidics.

  • Calendula: Calendula is a plant used for wound healing and skin health. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial benefits. Very popular as a natural wound-healer and anti-inflammatory.

  • Hibiscus: Rich in antioxidants. Fights inflammation and bacteria, supports the heart and liver.

  • Mullein: Mullein is an expectorant, which means it helps the body expel excess mucus, usually by helping make your coughs more productive, to bring up mucus that may be settling in the chest or in the throat.

  • Passionflower (Leaf + Stem): Helpful with anxiety and sleep problems, as well as for pain, heart rhythm problems, menopausal symptoms, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. It is applied to the skin for burns and to treat hemorrhoids.

  • Pineappleweed (Wild Chamomile): Pineappleweed is similar to its cousin German chamomile, and has been used as its substitute in herbal remedies. As a sedative, it can help relieve anxiety and treat insomnia. Its antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties aid with menstrual cramps, and stomach and intestinal pains

  • Wild Rose (Buds + Hips): Rose hips are used as a natural remedy for many diseases and ailments. They may help reduce signs of aging and lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and osteoarthritis pain.

About the creator: MoonBabyMedicine is the herbal mutual aid project and practice of Thanh Mai. Rooted in herbal honesty and aligned in time, Thanh draws from the traditions and teachings of the farmers and plant-keepers in their family. Rather than sourcing medicinal plants from large providers, Thanh focuses on heritage and community-based land-tending, Native plant medicine, and wild-crafting methods. Thanh has prepared these blends with a mix of plants that they grew, tended to, and harvested with their relatives. These specific plants are a mix of Šmuwič Native (California coastal), Vietnamese florals (northern mountains), and medicinal mushrooms (growing in both regions). They have been lovingly tended from seed to sprout and dried using a mix of traditional and assisted methods.
